The library collection is based on donated texts and is organised by call numbers that acknowledge each donor. Each text is given a call number constructed from the first letter of the donor’s first name, followed by the first two letters of their last name, a unique number, and a single letter; S, D or R suggesting the conditions of the loan (Special, Donation, Return).
Our full catalogue, including the latest titles, is only available for viewing on site at SHL. Please visit us in person to explore our complete collection and discover our newest acquisitions.
While space at SHL is limited, we are always interested in expanding the catalogue. We welcome donations of books, periodicals, ephemera, and audio-visual materials. Please note that we may not be able to accept all donations; however, we maintain a list of texts we are particularly seeking - see below
